Clean Up Time! We are in the process of cleaning out all the storm water management areas (as required by the County). This clean up is an expense charged to the community. Of serious concern to us is the number of newspapers being found, along with bottles, cups and general trash. The maint man is picking up in excess of 25 newspapers from each area and hasn't gotten to the large pond area yet. A great deal of the "trash" does get blown into the storm water areas when high winds kick up; however, the newspapers are still in their wrapper and are a little too heavy to actually blow around. We also see an inordinate number of newspapers lying in yards and driveways that do not get picked up by the owner. This is having a serious impact on your community - both in the cost to clean it up and in the overall appearance of the community. Please try and keep your newspapers picked and properly disposed of - this will save you money in the long run. ALSO: Please ensure you mow the strip along the curb, around the mailbox and the utility boxes. These areas are often overlooked when doing your trimming and edging. Thanks for your assistance in trying to keep Ashbrook clean! Contractor Recommendations Many of you have received a notice of inspection for your home with maintenance issues identified that need to be corrected before October. Most of the homes within Ashbrook have some rotted wood around the windows, doors, dormers, and garage door trim. Many of the homeowners are replacing this trim with wood wrapped in vinyl which will last significantly longer than painted wood. The following contractor, used by several residents, comes highly recommended: Executive Home Painting and Design, Inc. There is also a general contractor who actually lives in Ashbrook and comes highly recommended: Abe Pour REMEMBER: You must notify MMI, IN WRITING, when you have completed the repairs identified on your report so we can close you file and NOT follow up with a Violation Notice. Many of you have already done that and we really appreciate the cooperation with the process. IF YOU NEED an extension, please let us know that as well with specifics as to how long you need. If you have any questions or concerns, please call MMI at (703) 723-8450. Break-In's in the Neighborhood As many of you know, break-in's have recently occured in our community. Lawn Care through Millenium Management
MMI will accept up to 3 payments for the service - 1/3 paid each month (May, June, July)! You can't beat this offer, considering all that is included. Included in the basic price quoted are the following services:
- Mowing (approximately 26 cuts per year - front and back)
- Trimming and edging
- Spring clean up (removing old mulch, retrenching around trees and landscaping beds, applying new mulch)
As soon as you submit your application with a check made out to MMI, service will begin within 2 weeks.
